Why Go To Nicaragua
This video is of our first trip (with a team) to Nicaragua in February 2014 and answers the question WHY GO TO NICARAGUA?
THIS IS WHY . . . we must go
1) Christo Rey (the barrio) and the church, Casa Del Rey – we fell completely and totally in love with the precious people and church of Christo Rey. They are a people without hope and without a future and yet they love and live to the best of their ability to survive. We are called to bring a hope and a future to them through nutrition, education, and spiritual development.
2) The re-nutrition center and orphanage, New Life Nicaragua - brings life to abandoned, broken, abused, and starving children. New Life is a non-profit organization founded and directed by Missionaries Tim & Chris Bagwell. The Nicaraguan government brings extremely needy children to them, but offers no financial support. At New Life children are nourished physically, emotionally, and spiritually and then when ready, placed in adoptive homes. We have been invited by Tim and Chris to come up under their organization and serve them in any way they need us to.
3) The team – this team (in the video) and many more teams like them – we will provide an opportunity for teams to come to Nicaragua and work alongside us. Whether in the barrio building houses and feeding children, or at New Life, loving on children (many of whom have only felt the touch of terror and pain) to bring them to wholeness.
THIS IS WHY . . . we need you to partner with us
1) The barrio (Cristo Rey) – is home to 27,000 families – we cannot do this alone!
2) The re-nutrition center (New Life) - is only funded and supported through charitable contributions and the hands and feet of individuals and teams willing to come or give to the work.
3) You – need to be part of something bigger than you! We believe there is a place in all of us that was created to make a difference for someone, some place, other than our own existence.
When we are there – we will provide an opportunity for you to make that difference.
When we are there – you will have an opportunity to invest in changing the life and circumstances of a whole community.
When we are there – you can help bring love, nutrition, and a second chance to a child who would not otherwise have it.
When we are there – you will have an opportunity to be part of a team that comes to Nicaragua and actually see and become personally involved in what God is doing there.
