I Saw Doors Opening

Our son Than and his wife Megan, founders of Hope Project International just returned from a trip to Nicaragua where they took a group of professional baseball players and equipment to hold a baseball outreach in Cristo Rey, Nicaragua. While they were there they met up with Pastor Carlos Sanchez and his wife Zulema who pastor Casa Del Rey (House of the King) in Cristo Rey (the church in the barrio). We’ve had the honor of preaching at Casa Del Rey on a few occasions.

Pastor Carlos and Zulema are doing a tremendous work for God in a very difficult and needy place. We look forward to working with them as they endeavor to touch their city for God. They are praying earnestly for us and are looking forward to our arrival. During their time together Zulema, the pastor’s wife told them of a recent dream she had concerning me and Deb. In this dream, she saw me standing behind their pulpit preaching God’s Word. She said she recognized the pulpit as her husbands’ but when she looked out at the congregation it was all dark. As she looked back at the pulpit she realized that I was preaching from the roof of the church. Around the church there were multitudes of people listening to God’s Word being proclaimed. As she looked out at the people gathered there, she saw a row of doors between me and them, and as she watched, door after door began to open. As you can imagine when our son Than conveyed the content of what we believe was a God given dream, our hearts were overjoyed and thrilled beyond measure. It was God confirming to us again His call to go and lay down our lives for the precious people of Nicaragua. God confirming He has a plan to do great things through our lives among the people of this very impoverished country. Our plan and desire is to move to Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua sometime in the spring of 2015. We know it will take a miracle, but our God is a miracle worker. He’s a God of signs and wonders.
